by Tyler on January 21, 2016

Roughly two hundred miles south of Earth’s vortex capital, the planet’s most prodigious annual Gem and Mineral show is cradled throughout twenty separate locations scattering for five miles of Arizona’s I-10 freeway, expecting as many as 55,000+ geological enthusiasts and vendors from around the globe. Immediately fruiting at the tail end of the month long mineral frenzy Infinite Music, Euphonic Conceptions, New Earth and Challenger will be presenting the 10th installment of Gem & Jam Festival, a neo-cultural jewel of the psychedelic art world, this year’s crystalline celebration will be materializing in Tucson on Valentine’s Day weekend (February 12th-15th).

Live Schedule

Featuring workshops, lectures, arts and crafts, dancers, high end art installations, live visionary painters and sculptors, and digital projection mapping by visual artist Jonathan Singer! Another prominent facet of this gathering that attracts many of Gem & Jam’s participants is the conscientiously crafted lineup of cutting edge sound performances that ensures to keep the three dancefloors weaving. Summoning artists and live bands from within a broad spectrum of music methodologies mined from countries around the world such as Beats Antique, Desert Dwellers, Ott., Tycho, Polish Ambassador, Nahko, Minnesota, Dirtwire, Govinda, Templo, and the list continues!

Humans have used crystals and sound manipulation in ceremony dating as far back as 18,000 BC, with a mysterious spectrum of intentions ranging from healing, to regaining a connection with one another as well as our source, to channeling spirits and/or extraterrestrial intelligence, to mere facilitation of a meditative focus. Though the known reason as to why we’ve always been so fascinated with crystals and sound may forever be hidden within the mystery. Be sure to get your tickets to this year’s Gem & Jam!
