Govinda has to be one of my favorite artists for the past few years. Now that I’ve started to lean towards downtempo music, I’ve come to appreciate his music more and more. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him over the summer quite a bit. There’s a reason he’s everywhere and on almost every festival line up. His music is really that good. It sets the perfect mood. There aren’t many artist that come to mind where their music fits the outdoor environment whether you’re in the desert, forest, or tropical island.
This album doesn’t disappoint. You’re going to get the familiar chill world sounds that you’d expect but add heavy bass. Govinda really layered it on in this album. There are plenty of sullen female vocals that add the sexy tribal vibe to the music. If you’re a long time fan or new comer to Govinda you should definitely give this album a proper listen with big sub woofers. My minor critique about this release is that I’d Love to hear more violin across the tracks.
I had to luxury of getting to hang out with Shane recently when he came down for a show in Miami. It’s one thing to see one of your favorite artists around and it’s another getting to hang out and have a fantastic sit down meal with. Shane not only delivers as an excellent musician but also as an overall great person. He’s not a one hit wonder who just got into music. He’s a gentleman and scholar. You can really see the soul of the man through his music.
