Mimosa is one of my favorite artists on Muti Music for sure. But I really don’t know what to think about this one. I can’t say it’s bad but it’s not the Mimosa that I’m used to hear. Mimosa has focused less on the bass this time and implemented a more sound a bit more influenced from ordinary Dub music.
“Psychedelic Stereo” is by no means a bad record but I don’t get the same wicked feeling that I got from the last output “Flux for Life”, but that one on the other hand was one of my absolute favorites when it comes to this kind of music. I assume that “Flux for Life” was such a bomb that my expectations for this one was somewhat to high.
We get four new tracks; the titel track, “Pandora”, “The Keys to the City” and “Julia’s Labyrith”.
All and all a good release from Mimosa and Muti but not the as good as I had hoped for.
Alright here is this weeks show!
We definately ran into some technical difficulties at the start. The audio didn’t kick in till a 1:45 into the recording.
Also the cable going into the laptop got lose a couple of times and reason for stops in audio. We are working on getting a new cable and Mic setup.
Munkz started off this week’s show with some trippy IDM. Solid track selection! Got to love the dark eeriness of this mix. Towards the end he stepped it up a notch. Unfortunately we still working to perfect the switch between us but you’ll know when my half starts when you hear a certain Phil Collins track =D
My half focuses more on the glitch hop side of things. Started off with a few lovestep tracks since I thought it would be appropriate since it was the day after Valentines day. Wanted to do some more lovestep but so much new stuff to drop that wanted to bring to the table.
Next week we’ll be a lot more prepared!
It’s only going to get better from here on out!
It’s been awhile since I write a legit post and not just a mix. The new addition to the Afro Monk team, Pierre, is doing a great job. I’m thrilled to have him onboard and having him contribue so much.
WMC is right around the courner and looks like its going to be unforgettable as usual. I can’t believe how involved I am with this one event. The past month I’ve shared e-mails with some of the most respected producers/DJs in the glitch game in my eyes.
My show has almost been on for a month now. I started off strong but now we working out all the kinks. My close friend Munkz has been joining me and dropping some dubstep bombs. I feel like it’s a great combo of glitch/IDM/trip-hop with the last hour having Munkz bring the dirty bass.
Overall things are moving along. I’ll be meeting some of the glitch.fm crew in 2 weeks in DC. I’m flying up to DC for a gig HipGnosis got. Looking forward to meeting him and a few others that will be there.
I’m on a total travel mind set right now. I hope to visit NY and possibily even play at an event there. Also considering a trip to Oregon to visit some close friends from glitch.fm. My birthday is in the summer and most likely going to Vegas for Defcon and hope to somehow find myself on the bill to play out there. Another project I’ve been thinking of doing is throwing an event in Seattle. There is a group of glitch.fm guys up there as well. Let’s not forget Lost in Bass in Boston is always an option in the future.
It’s amazing the people I’ve met since joining the Glitch.fm team. I’ve become close with people all over the world and hope to visit them all in the near future, even the Delicious Crew in New Zealand.
This mix I did when I was feeling all emo and stuff. I’ve never really mixed trip-hop and haven’t mastered the art of beat matching so this can get a bit dodgy at times. This was more for the feel and listening to the songs. Poured out some of my favorite tunes in here. Later on in the mix I switched it up to play a little FL Breaks and into a pre-recorded Miami Bass mix that had there.
This is the recording of my set on last weeks show. Can’t believe I have a weekly show. I decided to team up with my close friend Munkz for this. Figured I’d bring the glitch and he brings the whomp. We ended up doing a ghetto rig there and turned out his portion of the show sounded like complete crap so just uploading my first hour.
WMC 2010 So Far…
Alright I did a bit of searching to see what I could find out.
I figured many of the parties from last year were returning plus heard some rumors about other parties so here’s what I got so far.
I’m excited to see who is headlining these events.
Also hyped to know that Datsik & Caspa will be in town considering I haven’t seen either of the two.

Sub Swara is at it again bring some serious whomp!
He just released a new podcast and features tons of hot tracks right now.
Glad to see some Mochi, Heyoka, and Joker put together all in one mix.
This is quite a diverse set and can’t be more thrilled about mixes like this.
It’s become a time where you’ve got to throw in all sorts of genres into the pot.
Being a DJ you should be able to throw a little of everything.

This march Klone will be back, last years ”The Push Effect” really got people to start talking about Klone and now he’s back with a new EP.
Combing the Glitcy and Bassy bits from the previous EP and putting then in a more Dubstep eviorment and alas we have “Dubconstep”. Personally I’m a more into the Glitch-Hop sound that on the last EP rather than this more Dubstepish sound, but it’s still a very good EP. The best track on this EP is number 4 “Want to Babylon” I really like all the sound the the “structure” of the tune is really amazing. It seems like the three first tracks are more of the Dubstep kind then on the forth track Klone seems to go back a bit to his old more Glitch-hop sound and that’s something I really appreciate.
Don’t sleep on this one when it’s released, you KNOW that Muti Music delivers EVERY time!
Last Monday I had my debut show on Glitch.fm!!!
I can’t tell you how excited I am to announce this.
I’ve been working real hard the past couple of months and I have a show now!
Every Monday from 11pm-1am EST I’ll be broadcasting on http://glitch.fm.
It’s an honor to have a show and not to mention share a part of my music to listeners.
I still consider myself a rookie and still even have some big mess ups but I’m practicing all the time now and want to be perfect. I’m quite disappointed in this mix but really happy about the feedback I’ve received and know I’ll be a LOT more prepared for next week.
Thank you all who believe in me and support me.
Never did I imagine this would actually happen.
This mix shows off a lot of what I’m really into when it comes to music. Majority is glitch music with some touch of glitch hop, dubstep, and even some trip-hop. I hope to bring this vibe every week and keep tunes fresh every week. I’m most likely not going to allow myself to play the same tune more than twice a month and if I do even do that, the track is just that worthy. Hope you enjoy! Be sure to tune in and feel free to join in the chat located at http://glitch.fm/irc
Andrei Olenev the man behind the pseudonym Heyoka seems to be a very productive man, in two years he’s released three EP’s and now with “Marklar” he has released his second full length album.
For those who haven’t not yet heard Heyoka he produces a mix of down- to midtempo beats with lots of bass and some occasional dub and hip hop influences but still with some really nice melodies. Since the last album “Space Code” I think the sound has become a tad more dance-floor friendly which I think is a great development.
Andrei is becoming one of my favorite artist on the Muti cause this is the kind of music I want to hear these day, it really gets me goin’.
