This weeks Fire Friday Mix comes from Trillbass the heavy artillery bass squad! Swytch and 2Sense have been holding it down and working hard in the studio. They’ve had some massive stuff coming out. They’ve teamed up with one of my favorite labels Made in Glitch on their latest podcast series.
The mix has some of the freshest tunes out there in the genre. It’s great to see Trillbass banging out the Glitch-hop business. Not to mention tons of talent showcased as well. It’s great to see ill-esha and Psymbionic on this mix. Seriously do yourself a favor and look them up. They are straight up some of the most amazing people to work with and be around.
Put your dancing shoes on and get ready for some serous BASS!
Be sure to also keep up to date with Made in Glitch’s podcast series!
(eye) <3 Glitch Dubstep is a new mix that I did LIVE on Glitch.fm. The first 45minutes didn’t record nor stream and had all sorts of issues. This mix starts from that mark and decided to keep going for a full two hour session.
This mix was done completely freestyle and not planned out. My intention was to go through as many tracks that I’d consider “Luvstep”. It was Valentines Day and figure I’d give my interpretation of luvstep after so many people ask me what I consider sexy or luvstep when mention it in conversation. I also stayed away from all the tracks most people would use. I’m tired of hearing Von D or Skream tunes being called that when their is so much more out there than the usual tracks we can all name off the top of our heads. I dug a bit deep and hope you all enjoy.
I made this one downloadable so you can all enjoy at anytime. It’s two hours so figure it’d be best for this one. Don’t expect a tracklist to appear because it’d take me forever. I have so many songs in front of me while I play and just go with the flow.
Also wanted to mention to please keep me in your prayers. My eye was hurting me throughout the day and when got home started on this mix after a nap. I should of taken my contact out but didn’t till I finished the 3hr set. I woke up the next day with my eye completely red and praying it’ll be fine. I goto the doctor tomorrow. The things we do for the things and people we Love.
Please share this. I wish music like this would be pushed more. This was put together as a response to all those filth mixes put together. That’s why I went 2 hours to show that there’s plenty of stuff that isn’t heavy.
Check out the brand new luvstep mix from Philly’s own Dirty South Joe & Flufftronix. I’m really feeling the vibe of this one. Hope to meet these guys soon since they’re round my neck of the woods and are into spinning similar music as me. You can get the lowdown on these two talented DJs and details about their upcoming tour and what not at luvstep.com.
And exclusive to the mix is this track by Mad Decent’s Derek ‘DJA’ Allen & Top Billin song “Suspiria” which features vocals by Derek Allen and produced by Top Billin and Derek Allen. Grab the dl here:
GoldRush is about to drop his release Love Hz on Valentines Day this year! If you’re not familiar with him you will be soon. He is a producer out in the West Coast repping sexy intricate music. After giving the Love Hz release a few times everything just made sense. The title Love Hz describes the balance and irony of Love at it’s best. Except one of the best intro songs with a luvstep vibe turning into one of those heavy dubstep tunes we’ve all come to enjoy. The tracks flow nicely and have that warm fuzzy feel to them in different parts blended with that pain we all know that comes with Love expressed in aggressive bass lines at certain points. The release has some tracks that just blew me away. S.C.Honey is one of my favorites and a track I’ve been dropping in my sets for awhile now. The vocal work makes tracks give such depth to the tune leaving you want it to go back and take your heart away.
GoldRush has quite the future ahead of him as he has support and surrounded by some of the biggest emerging artist in California. He is one of those guys who is already part of the culture and ready to release his sound out to the world. Love Hz is a perfect introduction to what is to come and an example that Luvstep is alive and bringing the bass. He has put together a promo mini mix to help promo the release. Get a small taste of what is to come this Valentines Day from GoldRush!

Dubporn Records is getting ready to launch! Founded by the infamous Gooddroid! Adrianna is originally from Brooklyn New York and been in Miami for about 9 years now. She has made such a major impact on the EDM community in Florida. Gooddroid could most likely be credited to be the first DJ to ever play Dubstep in Florida. She started a bi-weekly event called DOWN which is the longest going Deep Dubstep night in Miami. Don’t expect any Rusko or Datsik played on her nights. DOWN has featured some of the biggest names in Dubstep such as Joe Nice, Faulty DL, Headhunter, and Scuba. Not only does Adrianna run that ongoing event but she also is a major player in many of the other events that goes on in Miami. Many of the major acts such as Distance, Hulk, Matty G, Nick Argon, etc have come into town thanks to her. She is also a resident DJ for the massive Get Low party that brings some of the biggest heavy hitting brostep DJs from all over the world. Adrianna has no genre limits and can do it all. She’ll drop one of the sexiest sets early in the night and then dash over to play along side people like Borgore when he’s in town. Chances are if you’re remotely into Dubstep in Miami you’ve seen her play more than a handful of times as I call her the “Queen of Miami Dubstep”. LOL She’s going to kill me for writing that!
Adrianna is now starting her new project, Dubporn Records. She is bringing together a collection of good friends together to launch a new label that features some of the future bass sounds to the table. Expect quality releases in the near future from this labels as Adrianna has made many friends along the way of her music career. Expect one of the first releases from Miami raised Gray Ghost. Brandon is one of my favorite people in Miami and always has such a great attitude when it comes to music. Also in the works are releases from Chismosa and Munkz. Get ready fans of deep dubstep and funky juke vibes.
Here is a special mix Gooddroid put together to give everyone a taste of what she really loves. Expect vibes like these to be the theme of Dubporn. This mix is perfect for any mood. I’ve listened to it a few times already and have to say its one of my favorite mixes of this year in this style of music.

Heyoka is one of those producers that I love and always excited to hear what he has cooked up. Mandelbass recently has been announced and it is another shining example of why Heyoka has made such a name for himself, diversity with his unique take. His sound and styles range from all sorts of places but you’ll know one of his tunes from a mile away with his signature whompy glitch effects. He gives respects to the great mathematician and ‘creator’ of fractals Benoit B. Mandelbrot.
This release is absolutely stunning. It takes you on a magical glitch ride with beats flowing from all over the place. Just when you thought you had it all figured out you’re taken down deeper into the spiral fractal that is Heyoka. Some real experimental beats. Got to love it! A true master in the art of music.
Today the Heyoka show was announced here in Dallas April 8th! That only means be on a look out for Heyoka in your city as he goes out on a Mandelbass tour. He recently just put out a single off the Glitch This compilation they are giving away for a show he is playing for them. Check it out as you get a small taste of the latest work.
Expect the release of Mandelbass April 9th on Muti.

Colorado rockstars Big Gigantic & Ben Samples team up on an epic glitch-hop remix of Wiz Khalifa’s Black & Yellow. This track is probably one of the best examples of glitch-hop in my book. The next person who ask me to show them a track that shows what the genre is about it’s going to be this. I know this track will be a prime example of what it’s about when I load this into my set and smash some efx on top of it and crush the crowd. That to me is glitch-hop. A perfect blend of hip-hop/crunk, banging bass, glitched up beats, and live elements.
Massive respect to the duo Big Gigantic and Samples on this one. It’s absolutely massive and easily one of the anthems for awhile. I can see this being used quite often by many in the community.
oOoOO a new discovery! This evening I was randomly on facebook and came across a music link from Samples. I can always count on Ben listening to some headie music always. After I hit play I was totally blown away. Never had I come across such unique sounds as I was listening to in some time. Apparently it’s called Witch House or Drag. The past couple years its been glitch/glitch-hop for me and not so much chill stuff as I’d like till recently. The track was a remix by SF based oOoOO. I had never heard of the dude before but man what joy it has been since I hit play on soundcloud.
oOoOO is Christopher Dexter and has definitely made a name for himself. He has three releases out to date. The most recent self-titled release was pressed to vinyl and out on Tri Angle records. The release has been featured in Spin, xlr8r, and Pitchfork. It also was just put as #1 release on boomkat for 2010. Needless to say that’s quite impressive. I have no idea how I slept on this. This electronic chill pop dark style is exactly the sort of stuff I’ve been searching for to add depth to live sets.
November 2010 he released a special mix for Quietus. It is part of their mixes series and is officially came out as Quietus Mix 003: The Opaque Sounds Of oOoOO. I’ve been completely hypnotized by this mix. It’s a perfect blend of downtempo, pop, female vocals, goth, chill, experimental, etc… Check it out below. Hopefully I can get a copy to download.

Here are a few of my favorite tunes from his soundcloud:
We had a lot of great submissions to the website this week. Here are a few standout mixes for your listening pleasure this Fire Friday….
This first one comes from Dr. Knobz. It’s a nice mix of glitchop and dubstep and includes some of my faves out right now. He also wants you guys to know that him and Carly-D’s label, GruntWorthy, is going to be giving away a 20+ track compilation of free originals and remixes very soon.
Dr. Knobz – Nocturnum Mix
This next mix comes from Dirty Byrdz (Hexidecibel + Shiver) out of Seattle. They spent about 2 months getting the tracklist together for this one as well as waiting for tracks to come out or getting the ok from producers to use the unreleased ones. It includes a bunch of quality dubstep tracks and I think a found a few new faves in it.
Dirty Byrdz – Paper Chase
This next mix comes from DR. EW & JOHN BEAN who have been DJing in Philly for about 5 years now bringing heavy bass, dubstep, rap, hiphop and some thugstep to the scene. The mix is Terminator 2 inspired and has a lot of nice filth and thugstep in it. It was recorded live in Philly in December. Wish I had made it out to that show cause that’s close to my hometown. I started my day off with this one
