Keese releases “Panamint Chalice” on San Francisco’s own MalLabel Music, and it’s a futuristic slow-motion tale of the mixture of genres, of purple bass infused Glitch-Hop wonders from the northern bay of Arcata, California. West Coast Bass is an adventure of its own, just like a culture of the unknown experience of exploration. This young producer is not afraid to take risks as he will continue to experiment and bring forth luminous rays of full-spectrum energy meant to ignite the possible. Like super powers, these sound frequencies will produce rapid change and flashbacks, de-ja vu, psychic-abilities. I hope your ear pineals, and your mind’s eye are ready for an experiment of psytrap, 808’s, and sub trips, psychedelic epiphanies through auditory sense. Pick up your chalice glass and fill it up with a taste of your choice, I prefer clear liquid H20, and let these liquified sounds trigger a festive thought.
“Panamint Chalice” consists of 5 sound experiments sure to invoke invisibility, experience slow-motion effects, and time control – re-appearance into a different side. These experimental creations are entitled, “Hot Curls”, “Panamint Chalice”, “Love Yourself”, “Less is More”, and “Bonkers”. Hot Curls is a slow-motion step back, then 10 more steps forward into glitch fusion, and twirl of eerie crescendos of blended 808 beat and melodic freshness. Panamint Chalice is a proper occasion. An appropriate glitch stutter. A groovy mid-tempo whomp, a rhythmic 808 laser illumination beats created to invoke change, like that of a chameleon.
Love Yourself is an electronic upbeat first sparked by 808 feel, and continuous balanced beat of signature “drops”. Except they’re not “drops”, because they mesh well next to the prior soundscape, it’s more like a smooth twist of intelligent exposure of a new structured development of love. Less is More opened up a new wave of energy that sparked past-life inspiration. Intricate and delicate, yet powerful composition can be both felt and heard. A theme of fading effects mesh well with what sounds like alien atmospheric callings, from under the ocean and up into space, that’s some psytrap for you. Bonkers is a game of elegance meets chill, a coming of two worlds bound to cause technicolor bass whirlwinds of triggers.
Panamint Chalice is a boom of silver and gold minerals and psytrap trinkets found in a ghost town. Keese’s creation of sound experimentation is definitely fresh, I’m very stoked to see his future projects. He’s developing a rare sound in the West Coast Bass scene and isn’t afraid to express creations developed in his lab. Bass and Glitch Melodic encounters will sooth your brain waves, and blast you off into otherwordly sonic space sunset. Let these sound causations of realizations explore freshness.
