Bass Mtn Festival, in its fourth year and now held on July 25th-28th in Kyburz, CA, is not one to miss! With the perfect proportion of party to nurture and wellbeing, last year it was truly one of my favorite gatherings. Lately I have been comparing festivals to a much-needed vacation. They encourage harmony with nature, a relaxed mindstate, magnificent scenery, and an overall bitchin’ time. Like traveling, a festival is a “choose your own adventure” affair. Incorporating a sense of sublime freedom and kinship, participants leave feeling fulfilled and jubilant. Bass Mtn will be the quintessence of this – a wholesome retreat from our realities to a space of complete ease and liberation. It will provide us a sense of abundance like none other. Prepare for endless synchronicity, the best bass around, mind warping visuals, elaborate stage design, thought-provoking workshops, awe-inspiring art, rejuvenating yoga, luscious organic food, and soothing healing that will warm you inside and out.

Bass Mtn is an intimate gathering designed to enrich the soul and cultivate bonds. The opportunities for both self-reflecting and connecting with others are infinite! There is something for everyone, whether you want to activate your booty shakin’ skills at one of the sound stages, gaze in awe at amazing art creations scattered about the grounds, test your agility on a structure, delight in an organic smoothie, learn about plant alchemy, go on a hiking adventure in the woods, or simply wander aimlessly and giggle with friends.  What more could you ask for out of a weekend in the enchanting meadows, welcoming tree groves and majestic mountains of the Sierra Nevadas? Nothing, if you ask me! It’s a weekend that is set up perfectly for pure bliss and connection…. All you need to bring along is a sense of curiosity, an open heart, and intentions set on growth and awakening. This experience will likely cause all-sensory gratification – auditory, visual, mental, aromatic, tactic, even your taste buds may do a little dance once or twice.

The music will be sure to please… Opiuo’s unique party music is always super fun to get down to; his newest release Meraki is on point (if you haven’t checked it out I highly suggest doing so to get pumped for Bass Mtn)! Kalya Scintilla’s eclectic womps always get you in the groove. Digital Rust will provide brain melting gooey bass like none other. I recently had the pleasure of booking him for a Bass Tribe Tahoe and he did not disappoint! Nico Luminous always keeps it fresh with his fusion of hip hop and West Coast Bass flavors. Colorado fam 2NUTZ always gets a crowd going with their appealing glitch-hop vibes. Trevor Kelly has been crushing it all along the coast and has played some of my favorite sets this summer. If you’re into booty shakin’ bass, look no further than The Pirate. Musical mastermind Hypha will provide us with his “rhythmic bass poetry”. I first saw him perform at Emissions 2011 and he has killed it every time since. SELBY will get the crowd going and getting rowdy with his seamless mixing and future bass frequencies! Hailing from Vancouver, PerkulatOr has been taking the West Coast by storm and will be sure to please. Muppet Punk’s booty bass is always a good time Other favorites that I’m stoked about include Zeb Early, The Originalz, Duffrey, Bim Tim, Irieyes, Craigslist Hookup, DubColing, Boggan, S1nth3sys, Subdocta, Richard Xavier, Benjah Ninjah, Phil Harmonic, Mr. Rooney, Motorhome Music, Mizl, Coop da Loop, Lil Miss Mixer, IJV, Gurbtron, Game Genie, AUX, and Bassment-Ality. What a killer lineup – it is well-rounded and diverse, sure to please music lovers across the spectrum.

Check out the Bass Mtn website for information about the reasonable memberships (rather than purchasing a ticket as a commodity, participants procure memberships for a collaborative and participatory tribe), music, directions, preparations, and more. BIG UPS to Mindful Massive for working so diligently to make this spirit-enriching weekend a possibility. See you in the woods… surround yourself with love and frequencies at Bass Mtn next weekend!
